Aziz Ansari said his Good Fortune co-star Keanu Reeves was on crutches back in January because he fractured his kneecap on set which he revealed at CinemaCon 2024 in Las Vegas on Wednesday.
The 41-year-old actor said, 'About, I don't know, 15 days into shooting with me, I was like, "Hey, just go chill in your dressing room for 15 minutes." And he tripped on a rug. He's like, "Aah, my knee."'
He added that the John Wick actor was 'such a trooper' when the accident occurred, noting that 'he still filmed everything except some scenes where he needed him to do salsa dancing, which we need to pick up.'
Reeves pushed through according to his co-star: 'He was like, "I'll do it!" We're like, "Keanu, calm down. We'll do the salsa dancing once your knee's healed."'
The Parks and Recreation actor said that this is nothing new for his A-list counterpart noting that he was strong enough to not need 'to go to the hospital or anything.'

'He's done those Wick movies, all the Matrix stuff. In Speed, he actually did attempt to do the jump from the car to the bus. It wasn't the take they used, but he did do it,' Ansari added.
PEOPLE reported that Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Chair Joe Drake said the studio 'moved quickly to land this project once it was available,' back in April of last year.
'We have indeed found good fortune with this film,' Drake said. 'We love the script and believe strongly in Aziz as both a performer and a director.
'And when you add in Seth and Keanu – two incredible world-class talents — toplining alongside Aziz, this has the potential to be a very special film for us,' he finished.
Filming was scheduled to commence last May, although it was delayed after the onset of the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike.
Reeves and Ansari co-wrote and co-directed Good Fortune while they star alongside Seth Rogen and Keke Palmer in the movie.
Palmer, 30, took to Instagram back during filming to share a snap of the stars to share in the moment.
In the photo, she donned a navy top with white flora pattern as her dark locks cascades over her shoulders.
The True Jackson VP actress showed her silly side as she stuck her tongue out as she looked gorgeous will a full face of makeup on.
She captioned the photo, 'Having so much fun with these amazing guys on set of our film Good Fortune — we had a pool scene today that lowkey turned into a real pool party hahaha! Working with Aziz something spontaneous always happens♥️.'
Reeves was all smiles as he wore a dark green V-neck shirt paired with a black jacket.
Ansari opted for a red patterned shirt as he styles his hair to the side and smiled at the camera.
It was announced that Palmer joined the comedy's cast back in late January.
Ansari said, 'Keke is a delight to work with, I’m so happy she’s a part of our cast and even more excited to provide a quote for this press release announcing her casting.'

Good Fortune marks Ansari's second effort at directing a film.
Before landing this new gig, he had been working for Searchlight on the comedy-drama Being Mortal.
However, in 2022, concerns regarding actor Bill Murray's inappropriate behavior on set led to an indefinite suspension of the project.
